Immediately after a double shooting that killed one of the victims, the assailants stole an 18-pack of beer from their targets, police say.

The gunfire erupted about 6:45 p.m. Sunday along the 4000 block of North Johnson Street, just north of 40th Street and about four blocks west of Electric Street.
