Criminal defendants in Riverside County using public defenders may soon have to pay $ 50 for the service.

The Board of Supervisors will consider establishing the registration fee at its meeting Tuesday, Sept. 11. The 9 a.m. meeting is at the County Administrative Center, 4080 Lemon St. in Riverside.
