Entertainment E-Tailer Named Exclusive Online Music Source For Leading NPR Station
TORRANCE, CA (November 1, 1999) Kabang.com (http://www.kabang.com), an innovative entertainment e-commerce site launched earlier this month, has announced an agreement with National Public Radios Southern California flagship station KCRW 89.9 FM to become its exclusive online music retailer. As part of the agreement, Kabang.com will underwrite a portion of KCRW programming and will receive rights to KCRWs Real Audio archive and Morning Becomes Eclectic performances.
Kabang.com will be featured prominently both on-air and on the KCRW Web site (http://www.kcrw.com) and will take an active role in KCRWs annual pledge drives. Kabang.com and KCRW will link information, original content and unique special sales, such as the sale of KCRWs recently released Mornings Become Eclectic CD, featuring recordings of live in-studio performances by headline and underground artists including Angelique Kidjo, John Martyn, Cake, Buffalo Daughter, Beth Orton, Air, Sixpence None the Richer, Freestylers, Semisonic, Ednaswap, Lyle Lovett, Mercury Rev, Brad Mehldau, PJ Harvey, Morcheeba, and Pink Martini.

The station serves Los Angeles and Orange Counties at 89.9 FM, and Ventura County at 89.1 FM on KCRU/Oxnard-Ventura, and the greater Palm Springs area at 89.3 FM on KCRY/Indio-Palm Springs. Translators carry the signal to Banning at 90.9 FM, Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley at 90.7 FM, the Antelope Valley at 88.1 FM, the Ridgecrest area at 107.1 FM, the Santa Paula, Moorpark, and Fillmore areas at 102.3 FM and Ojai at 102.1 FM.
