San Bernardino, Calif. (PRWEB) August 25, 2005
The Inland Empire Diversity Career and Job Fair moves to Saturday, Sept. 10 at the National Orange Show Events 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Saturday September 24 at the Riverside Convention Center.
As founder Carl Dameron of Dameron Communications, explains, For years we hosted the Job Fair on weekdays to accommodate the employers looking for employees. But the Diversity Job Fair is really for the public. Our goal is to match job seekers with the companies who want to hire them. The job seekers told us what they want, and they want the Diversity Job Fairs on Saturday.
Surveys found that 2/3 of respondents spent as much as six hours each day on Southern California freeways commuting to Los Angeles and Orange County, and simply couldnt make weekday dates. These highly skilled, experienced employees want to find local jobs.
They want to spend more time home, Dameron says, To be with their families and be involved with their community.
With the new Saturday date, as many as 3,000 job-seekers are expected, meeting with such exhibitors as the County of San Bernardino, The Art Institutes, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Riverside County, University of Phoenix, Riverside County Sheriffs Department, Fed-Ex, 909models.com, Cal State San Bernardino, the California Conservation Corps and an about 15 others.
As Dameron says, Business leaders, government officials and school district leaders have often addressed the hiring of minorities by saying We cant find qualified applicants. Since 1994 the Inland Empire Diversity Career and Job Fair has proven we can.
There are eight job fairs set for now through the end of next year. They are:
