MURRIETA: Judge rules red-light camera initiative illegal

A voter initiative banning red-light cameras in Murrieta is illegal and cannot be placed on the November ballot, a Riverside County Superior Court Judge formally ruled on Friday, Aug. 4.

Judge Daniel A. Ottolia said traffic laws were a statewide concern, and so power over them rested with the government.
